Final Light Leaf Spot Forecast for 2019/20

The light leaf spot (LLS) forecast has been updated for this season following the preliminary data released in the Autumn by the AHDB. The new latest forecast takes actual winter rainfall into account.

The wet winter has increased the predicted severity of LLS disease for most of the UK. This seasons forecast can be found here:

Light leaf spot is a disease of oilseed rape which can significantly reduce yield and cause annual losses that total millions of pounds.

LLS has a long period of symptomless growth before appearing as white spots of spores on leaves. As the infection matures, the fungus can cause bleaching and stunting of leaves and eventually the whole plant. For more information see our page in the Diseases section.
